Reward Increased To $3,000 For Information On Fatal Delaware County Hit And Run

COLLINGDALE, Pa. (CBS) – The reward for information on a hit and run in Delaware County has been increased.

On March 7th, a 58-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car at Clifton Avenue and Spruce Street in Collingdale (see previous story).

The victim, identified as Timothy McCaughan, was a father of three who had two grandchildren and another on the way.

The striking vehicle was caught on surveillance video and appears to be an early 2000s model light colored Chevy Suburban, possibly light tan or gray, with rectangular shaped headlights. The vehicle may have damage to the orange plastic light assembly.

Authorities say the driver is believed to have a close cut full beard, short curly hair, 6′ 2″ tall with a stocky build, possibly wearing red colored jacket.

Earlier this week, officials announced a $2,000 reward was being offered for information on the hit and run. On Friday, a week after the deadly incident, that amount was increased to $3,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Collingdale Police Department at 610-586-0502 or Delaware County Criminal Investigation at 610-891-4700.
