Review: Spot Burger

Location: It's a yellow food truck at 33rd and Market (although I think it moves around).

Who would have thought a tiny two-man food truck would become a contender in this contest? But Spot Burger deserves its cult following. There's a waitress to take your order, a guy yielding the spatula and a long line of devotees. Think Soup Nazi, except with a cheery demeanor.

The "Spot Burger" – grilled to order – starts with 90-percent lean, fresh-ground sirloin butts. It's jammed into a delicious potato roll and topped with bacon, cheddar, dill pickle chips, coleslaw, and a savory nine-ingredient Spot Sauce. I can't figure out all the ingredients in the sauce, but all-in-all, it's a great melding of flavors.

The prices are fair. And there's a broader menu, in case you go with a non-carnivore. But I wouldn't. Give this tiny upstart a try. You won't regret it.
