CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- The Camden County police department recently reestablished its cold case unit, and it didn't take long for that effort to bear fruit.

A couple of veteran detectives were talked out of retirement. Their first task was to track down the killer of 55-year-old Georgianna Jedrzejewski, who was stabbed to death in her Tulip Street home in December of 2012.

Police chief Scott Thomson says the unit dusted off the file, did some research, and found their suspect.

"These investigators were able to get a warrant for Mr. Tino Cruz, and with the help of the United States marshals we were able to locate this individual in Jacksonville (Florida)."

Thomson says Cruz was living in a friend's home.

Detectives were in Florida seeking to return the 32-year-old Camden man to face murder charges.
