by John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Organizers of an upcoming online initiative geared towards urban youth voters across the country comes to Philadelphia for a little help.

Colona Roberts is an educator and business owner in Philadelphia. She was among Philadelphians appearing in front of a video camera for the Hip Hop Caucus "Respect My Vote!" campaign.

Her message: get out and vote to influence change.

"As a retired school teacher for the Philadelphia School District, when they see people like me: your average mother, father, your average person you see on a daily basis, they will be more apt to get up and vote, because they realized that we vote, why shouldn't you vote," said Roberts.

In advance of the presidential election, community leaders, hip hop artists, politicians, and many more from various cities throughout the United States will appear in the campaign launching online July 18th.
