'Represent: 200 Years Of African American Art'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- John Vick, Project Assistant Curator at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Organizing Curator of "Represent, 200 Years of African American Art", currently on display, gives a brief preview.
"This exhibition spans the museum's broad collection of work by African American artists and features more than 75 works by more than 50 artists from the early 1800s up to the present day," said Vick.
Vick talks about what he and Doctor Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw of the University of Pennsylvania was trying to accomplish with this exhibition.
"That would reflect the type of things that were being made in different periods of time, so this includes decorative art and fine art made before the Civil War, during the early 20th Century, during the Harlem Renaissance and then also contemporary art," said Vick.
