New York Jets Sign QB Michael Vick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Michael Vick is now a New York Jet.

According to CBSSports.com, the Jets released quarterback Mark Sanchez on Friday and didn't waste any time in adding another quarterback to the roster.

As CBSSports.com reports, the team then announced the signing of the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, who will reunite with Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

Mornhinweg was Vick's offensive coordinator in Philadelphia for four seasons (2009-12).

Vick joined the Eagles in 2009 and led the team to a playoff appearance during the 2010 season.

Eagles Chairman Jeffrey Lurie issued a statement on Vick:

"I want to personally wish Michael Vick and his family all the best as he heads into the next phase of his career in New York. I really enjoyed getting to know him over the last five years. He always represented our team with a tremendous amount of class. Michael was a great teammate, a great leader and we're thankful for everything he provided to our organization and to our community."
