Officials: Reported Shooting Near VF Military Academy May Have Actually Been Bubble Wrap
TREDYFFRIN, Pa. (CBS) -- Police tell Eyewitness News that they were dispatched to a reported shooting near the campus of the Valley Forge Military Academy on Monday. School officials say that the sound that led to the report, may not have been gunfire, but instead the popping of bubble wrap.
The reported incident took place on the 1000 block of Eagle Road near the academy.

At 5:51 p.m., officials confirmed that medics were dispatched to the report of a shooting. Police did not immediately confirm that a shooting took place.
A spokesperson for the Valley Forge Military Academy tells Eyewitness News that an Eastern University student, living in an apartment building near the academy, called police and said that she had heard gunshots.
Radnor and Tredyffrin police investigated, clearing the apartment complex. A school official says that no weapons were found and there was no evidence of a weapon being fired.
According to school officials, one student told police that the sound she heard could have been bubble wrap being popped.
Valley Forge Military Academy was placed on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted at 7:30 p.m. and normal operations resumed at the campus.
