Report: Sixers Eyeing Point-Guard In First-Round

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Center and sure-fire top-three overall pick, Joel Embiid, is now injured and expected to have surgery on Friday. How does this effect the Sixers, who have the third and 10th overall picks in the first-round of the NBA draft?

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Thursday that Philly is "intrigued with the possibility of drafting a point guard", specifically looking at Marcus Smart and Dante Exum.

The Sixers of course already have a point-guard, who also happens to be the reigning NBA rookie of the year, in Michael Carter-Williams.

The report also states a source says the Sixers have had discussions about acquiring an additional top-ten pick, somewhere in between the two top-ten picks the Sixers already own. One can speculate, especially with Sam Hinkie at the helm, trading MCW isn't out of the realm of possibility.

With Hinkie, however, you should take every report with a grain of salt because he may just call the cops on you.
