Report: Penn State Lands Top Cornerback Recruit Garrett Taylor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to 247Sports, Penn State has landed a top cornerback recruit to add to the ranks in Happy Valley. According to the report, Garrett Taylor has committed to Penn State.

Taylor has been ranked as one of the nation's top 10 cornerbacks and recently had his official visit to Penn State.

The cornerback originally committed to play for Michigan. Taylor decided on Penn State after considering several schools including Ohio State, LSU and Virginia Tech.

Taylor comes from St. Christopher's School in Richmond, Va. He will join a 2015 Penn State recruiting class that includes 19 players, three of which rank in the nation's top 100 according to 247Sports.

The Nittany Lions secondary should receive a boost as Taylor will be joined at his position by fellow recruit John Reid out of St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia.
