Report: NFL To Announce Philadelphia As 2017 Draft Host

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- First the Pope, now the Democratic National Convention, and next? The NFL Draft.

According to NJ.com, the NFL is expected to announced Philadelphia as the host of next year's draft. The announcement is expected to come on Tuesday, August 2nd or Tuesday, August 8th.

The NFL Draft has been held in Chicago for the past two years, after being in New York City from 1965-2014. With the Rams moving to Los Angeles, another reported possible location for a future draft, the NFL is beginning to expand the draft to other major cities.

The Eagles, coincidentally, do not own a first-round pick in 2017. They traded that pick to the Cleveland Browns this offseason in order to move up in the draft to select quarterback Carson Wentz.
