PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple football head coach Matt Rhule has agreed to be the new head coach at Baylor University.

"I am truly honored and humbled to join the Baylor Family and I can't thank President Garland and Mack Rhoades enough for this incredible opportunity," said Rhule via BaylorBears.com. "Baylor is a tremendous institution with a history of football success and I know the passion that so many have for the Bears will help bring the community together to reach even greater heights. I am excited to get started."

Last week on the 94WIP Midday Show, Rhule talked about his commitment to Temple.

"No one is beating down my door right now and I don't anticipate that," Rhule said on Thursday. "I'm kind of a city guy, a Philly guy, been at Temple for 10 years. I don't make promises, I don't pretend to know what's gonna happen, but I got no one calling me."
