Report: Many Sunscreens Do Not Offer The Protection They Promise

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – You might want to rethink what brand of sunscreen you use.

Consumer Reports says that one-third of the sunscreens they tested did not offer the protection they promised on the label.

Many of the poorest performers came from cosmetic companies.

Doctors recommend using sunscreens that have an SPF of 30 or higher, offer broad-spectrum protection and are water resistant for 40 or more minutes.
