Report: Kings Waive Mike Richards

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- According to multiple reports, the Los Angeles Kings have waived Mike Richards.

Richards, 29, had a $5.75 million cap hit through 2019. The Kings opted not to buy out Richards' contract during last June's amnesty window.

The former Flyers captain has not scored more than 12 goals in a season since 2011-12---his first with the Kings. This season, Richards has just five goals and 10 assists.
