Jason Kelce To Have Sports Hernia Surgery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Originally reported by 94WIP's Howard Eskin, Chip Kelly confirmed Eagles center Jason Kelce will have sports hernia surgery. Kelce left Sunday's game against the Redskins with an abdomen injury. Eskin originally reported the injury could keep Kelce out six to weeks.

"I haven't gotten the how long, so that's the biggest thing," Kelly said in his press conference Monday afternoon. "I don't have a timetable on anything. I don't have a level of concern. Just tell us who we got that's available to play and let's go out and play."

David Molk replaced Kelce at center on Sunday against the Redskins.

"Molk doesn't have Kelce's experience, but blocking calls went fine yesterday," Kelly said.

Kelce will be the third starting Eagles offensive lineman that will miss significant time this season, the other two being Evan Mathis (MCL sprain) and Lane Johnson (four-game suspension).
