Report: Jason Peters Pulled Himself Out Of Eagles' Loss To Washington

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles took on Washington on Saturday night with the season on the line. A win, and the Eagles inched closer to a division title, but a loss, and they would be eliminated from playoff contention.

In a situation like that, you'd want to have as many leaders on the field as possible. One of the Eagles' leaders reportedly had to exit the battle and made the call himself.

According to Howard Eskin, left tackle Jason Peters "pulled himself," from the game in the fourth quarter and also reports that Peters was concerned about getting hurt during a game that would ultimately end the team's season.

The Eagles wound up losing to Washington for many more factors aside from Peters pulling himself out of the game. The Pro Bowl left tackle has battled injuries all season and hasn't quite looked like his dominant self all year.

Despite all of that, Peters has always seemed to be the type of player to fight it out until the very end.
