Some of the Philly media members reacted to the news:
Just because the WR play on the field was poor, doesn't mean bad coaching should be excused.

Poor Greg Lewis. I'd be curious...if the Eagles do a bad job of drafting secondary talent, will Dawk get fired?

This is like firing the hitting coach in baseball when you have a team of bad hitters. https://t.co/RxqHzLcBmY

This happens almost every year though, we never know how a position coach performs, ever. And that's true in every sport.

Per Yahoo Sports, Eagles have fired WR coach Greg Lewis. Nice guy, but no one guy improved during his watch. Didn't have much to work with.

According to reports #eagles and Greg Lewis have parted ways. He is not the reason wide receivers were brutal. @SportsRadioWIP @FOX29philly

I do not think Lewis did a good job overall. If team drafts WR in first two rounds, need a better coach to develop him. #Eagles

Not an inspired hiring from the get-go. Greg Lewis had no NFL experience heading the position and was asked to lead a young group.

Greg Lewis had Eagles background when they hired him, but hadn't yet been an NFL position coach. Curious whether replacement is coaching vet
