Report: D'Angelo Russell To Work Out With Sixers On Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops and the AP, Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell will work out for the Sixers on Wednesday.

Russell, who cancelled his previous workout with the Sixers because he was "real sick," is a projected top-five pick. Russell is a 6'5" left-handed, smooth stroking combo guard. ESPN analyst Jay Bilas called Russell the "best pure player in the draft."

The Sixers own pick No. 3 and many believe they will take a guard, choosing between either Russell or Emmanuel Mudiay from the Chinese Basketball League. Former Sixers' head coach Larry Brown talked why Mudiay's upside is greater than Russell's.

Mudiay, a 6'5" explosive point-guard, reportedly worked out with the Sixers on Tuesday.

"It was good," Muday said of the workout according to Tom Moore.

"[He] winked and gave a thumbs-up sign as he got into a chauffeured Cadillac Escalade," Moore wrote. "He was wearing a red and blue Sixers hat and a black sweatsuit."
