Report: Andy MacPhail To Be Named Top Phillies Executive

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, the Philadelphia Phillies are expected to hire Andy MacPhail to "lead their operations soon."

It was first reported on June 15th that the Phils were targeting the former Orioles, Cubs, and Twins top executive.

MacPhail, according to Heyman's report, is expected to be named President or similar, with current President Pat Gillick moving into a consulting role. The move will reportedly be announced "within a week or so."
