Report: 76ers 'Leaning Heavily' Towards Ben Simmons

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For Philadelphia 76ers fans, celebrating the first overall pick quickly turned into debating Ben Simmons vs. Brandon Ingram.

However, according to a report, there may not be much debate inside the Sixers' organization. Kevin Ding of BleacherReport.com reports the Sixers are "leaning heavily toward taking Simmons, according to league sources."

Simmons, an Australia native, has multiple ties to the Sixers. First, Sixers sports science guru David T. Martin worked in Australia in 2015. Second, Sixers head coach Brett Brown coached Simmons' father in Australia.

"I coached Ben Simmons' father for five years in Australia in the late 80's and I've known his family and dad his whole life," Brown told SportsRadio 94WIP last week. "And you look at his evolution, very ironic that he's ended up where he's ended up in this position."
