Repairs Underway After Sewer Main Break In Mount Laurel

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., (CBS) – Repairs are underway after the Mount Laurel Sewer Department experienced a break in one of its major sewer mains Tuesday morning.

The sewer main break is located at the intersection of Moorestown-Mt. Laurel Road and Union Mill Road.

Due to the location and size of the main, the Mount Laurel Township Office of Emergency Management says they are estimating that the repair will continue into Wednesday.

All Mount Laurel residents west of Hartford Road, until further notice, are asked to immediately limit water use to facilitate repairs.

The Office of Emergency Management says this is to prevent unnecessary wastewater from entering the sewer system by means of washing machines, dishwashers, sink drains and toilets.

They say Mount Laurel's water supply has not been affected and remains safe for consumption.

If you are experiencing a sewer main back up, contact The Mount Laurel Township Municipal Utilities Authority at 856-234-0062.
