Remodeled Buick Lacrosse Challenges Cadillac

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Falling fuel prices, new high efficiency engines, transmissions and lightweight steel construction, are making large sedans attractive again in the face of the steady onslaught of small cars, SUVs and pickup trucks.
The 2015 Buick Lacrosse has emerged from the sedan doldrums impressively emboldened.
Smartly restyled from hood to front fascia, culminating in a snazzy waterfall front grill and sophisticated dual LED and Bi-Xenon HID headlamps, an all wheel drive equipped Lacrosse costing $42,000 gets very close to Cadillac luxury territory.
The new Lacrosse looks good going away too, with chrome-accented wraparound LED lighting and an integrated rear-deck spoiler.
With the ultra luxury package, the Lacrosse features a roomy 5 passenger interior, pigmented leather upholstery and burlwood finishes, comfortable long haul seating, and safety features like forward collision alert, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring.

With a healthy kick, the 304 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine produces respectable but short of class leading 18 city and 28 highway mileage stats.
