New Reality Series About Philly Vet Students Set To Debut

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Animal Planet is premiering a new reality series this weekend that stars Penn Vet students.

The show is called "Life at Vet U" and follows the students who are going through their fourth year of school.

29-year-old Clint Kuban is a cast member. He says it didn't take too long to get used to the cameras following him around, but when it came to explaining procedures on-camera, the production crew worked with him during filming:

"This is my problem, a lot of the times, I would tend to become very scientific with it, and say the 24-letter word and they would say 'okay, can you just repeat that in a little more understandable terms'?"

Crews had special access to Penn Vet's two schools -- Ryan Hospital for Companion Animals and New Boston Center hospital for large animals.

As for the premiere episode…

"I have some friends, we are going to get together and order a pizza and watch the show," says Kuban. "Our own little private party."

The six part series begins Saturday on Animal Planet at 10 p.m.
