Didinger: Eagles Should Be 'Ashamed' If They Do Not Win NFC East

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ray Didinger will not accept anything less than a division championship.

Didinger, a Hall Of Fame football analyst often called "The Godfather" in Philadelphia, joins the 94WIP Morning Show as in-studio guest every Thursday. And every week, Didinger discusses the Philadelphia Eagles with Angelo Cataldi, often answering questions from the 25-year radio host on WIP.

But today -- on this particularly Thursday -- Didinger needed to make an unsolicited comment before he took off.

"Before I go Ang," Didinger said, "I've got to tell you. The Eagles right now, this division is -- we've said it a million times -- it's awful. We know it's awful. But right now, if you're the Eagles, you've got to win this division."

Despite their 5-7 record, the Eagles are tied a top the NFC East with the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. The Dallas Cowboys are just one game behind the pack at 4-8. According to this Elo rating system, the Eagles are heavy favorites.

"I mean you've stumbled your way into this position, but right now you look at the Redskins -- they've got four games left," Didinger said. "Three of them are on the road, they haven't won a road game all year, so they aren't going to win it. The Giants have two really tough games now coming up and so the schedule really -- you've got three of your last four games at home.

"If they don't win this division, then they outta be ashamed of themselves," Didinger continued. "Because it's a bad division and right now, everything is pointing in your favor. You can't blow this one now."
