Blustery and cold for Sunday's Eagles game, chance for isolated snow squalls

You'll need the heavier winter coats and sunglasses for Sunday. Skies will clear to partly cloudy, but later today a front to the east may generate isolated snow squalls with brief whiteout conditions and a coating of snow.

Temperatures will fall through the afternoon and dip into the upper 30s by the early evening. Winds will gust to 35 mph from the west-northwest creating winds chills in the 20s and 30s.

NEXT big weather change

The NEXT Weather team is watching for the possibility of a coastal low forming off the mid-Atlantic on Thursday-Friday. The models are coming into better agreement about the formation of the low, but the exact location is still uncertain.

Regardless of location we should see either a cold rain or measurable snow. The timing of much colder air arriving on Thursday could also increase the snow chances for our area. Stay tuned as this forecast develops.

Eagles game forecast

Skies will be partly cloudy for the Eagles' wild-card game on Sunday.

However, it will be a raw, cold day. Temperatures will be dropping through the day from the mid-to low 40s to the 30s.

It will also be very windy with gusts from the northwest to 40 mph and wind chills in the 20s and 30s. Brief, isolated snow squalls will be in the area later this afternoon as well.
