Rain & Flood Threat Continues

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Low pressure continues to slowly move through the mid-Atlantic tonight providing heavy rain and flooding. So far, anywhere from 3-4.5" of rain has fallen so far. The steadiest and heaviest rain will continue though around midnight. Numerous flood warnings have been posted for many smaller rivers, creeks and streams throughout the Delaware and Schuylkill Valleys. The Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday morning. Most of the rivers and creeks are expected to crest by Thursday afternoon. Remember to not drive or walk through flooded areas. It only takes two feet of water to float a car and 6 inches of fast moving water to knock an adult down.
Overnight, the rain will begin to taper to showers, but any shower can still be quite heavy. A warm front will pass through the Delaware Valley tonight allowing for temperatures to rise through the 60s. Thursday is a much warmer day, with highs in the mid 70's and at least a little sunshine. But there will still be a chance of a few showers during the day as a cold front moves through. Then a quiet stretch of weather for Friday and the weekend, with highs in the upper 60's and at least a little sunshine each day (but also the chance for spotty showers).
