Rain Doesn't Dampen Spirits On Final Day Of Made In America

PHLADELPHIA (CBS) - The 2014 Made In America Festival wrapped up Sunday, and for the second straight day, the show was a big hit with Philadelphians, despite the arrival of rain.
Those in attendance didn't pay for a light show, but thousands got one as storms rolled in.
Event organizers ordered everyone to seek shelter because of the dangerous conditions, which some concert-goers tell CBS3 Eyewitness News was frustrating:
"It's kind of a bummer that we have to go."
"We payed a lot of money. It said rain or shine on the ticket."
But the show must go on and after about an hour, gates were reopened.
Mother Nature cooperated early, as the day started off hot and steamy, before the brief rain delay, but Lucas and Jay from Haddon Township didn't seem to mind:
(Jay) "No, it made it twice as good. It was awesome."
(Lucas) "When we had to leave, that was kind of a bummer. But when we got back, the rain made it so much better. It cooled us down when we were dancing. It was just awesome."
While people took in performances by Pharell, Kings of Leon, Girl Talk, and other musical acts, the giant swing set up on the Parkway was a big draw:
"It's pretty awesome, I gotta say," this concert-goer tells KYW Newsradio. "Like, checking out the Parkway up and down when you're up that high, it's pretty spectacular. I mean, the show looks fantastic."
Mike and his wife Raluka live in the area, and say the festival didn't cause any problems, but admit they weren't huge fans of the 8 a.m. soundchecks.
