Radnor Elementary 4th Graders Present Check To Help Veteran In Need

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA (CBS) – Students at a local school are doing some good to help someone in need.

On Wednesday, a class of fourth graders presented a check with money they collected to a charity of their choice.

The students collected the funds by performing extra chores around their homes.

The effort was all a part of the class' annual Panache Pancake Day celebration.

Radnor Elementary school teacher Camille Baker helped her fourth grade class present the check to 'New Leash on Life USA'.

The non-profit rescues at-risk dogs from shelters, trains them, and places them with veterans with PTSD.

The class will be sponsoring a dog named Bruce. Bruce is part of New Leash on Life's Saving and Reclaiming Lives program, an assistance dog-training program that benefits veterans with PTSD and their families.

The end-of-the-year celebration lets students enjoy pancakes with their parents while discussing what they've learned in school.
