Raccoon Removed From Camden County Home Tests Positive For Rabies

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – A raccoon removed from Waterford Township has tested positive for rabies, Camden County officials announced.

The Camden County Health Department says that on Oct. 27th, the family dog of a Waterford Township household killed the raccoon in the home's yard.

The dead animal was removed for rabies testing and on Oct. 30, officials announced those test results were positive for the disease.

The news comes just days after a raccoon removed from the yard of a Cherry Hill home also tested positive for rabies.
