PSPCA Rescues 3 Dogs From West Oak Lane Home
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Pennsylvania SPCA announced it rescued three emaciated dogs from a home in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Based on a complaint, the PSPCA says officers obtained a search warrant and entered a home on the 7000 block of Sommers Road.
There, the PSPCA says the officers discovered three emaciated Pit Bull Terrier dogs.
Humane Law Officers cited the owner with two summary counts of animal cruelty for unsanitary confinement and failure to provide veterinary care to the three dogs.
"These dogs need medical attention, a healthy diet, and ultimately, a good home," said Director of Humane Law Enforcement George Bengal in a news release. "They're in good hands now, and we will work to rehabilitate them so they can move on to better lives."
All three dogs were surrendered to the officers and brought to the PSPCA's Erie Avenue shelter for veterinary evaluations and treatment.
