Protesters Don't Want Drone Command Center In Montco

HORSHAM, Pa. (CBS) --- Protesters rallied in front of the Horsham Air Guard station Saturday afternoon, calling for an end to the drone command center being established there.

"They expect it to be online in 2015, and we are attempting to stop it," said a protester.

With a replica drone in front and crosses with the names of those killed in military drone strikes at their feet, a little more than a dozen protesters begged for the government not to bring a drone command center to Montgomery county.

"So many innocent people are killed, women and children, and knowing that personally, it makes me feel that I have to get out and demonstrate against certain things," a protester explained. "We'd like to see this drone war command center decide to fold up and disappear."

For the last year and a half these protesters have rallied in opposition to the command center.

Their goal? "So that the Air National Guard and the US Air Force, they get the point there's not this automatic acceptance of it," said a demonstrator.

The command center is expected to bring more than 200 new military and civilian jobs to the area.
