Prosecutors: New Jersey High School Teacher Smoked Pot With Student

WEST MILFORD, N.J. (AP) -- A New Jersey high school teacher who allegedly smoked marijuana with a 17-year-old student has been charged with child endangerment.

Passaic County prosecutors say 30-year-old Michael Fleming, of Hackensack, was arrested Tuesday. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

Fleming teaches at West Milford High School, and authorities say the juvenile is a student at the school. Authorities say the incident happened in February, but did not provide further details.

Fleming's bail was set at $25,000.

A telephone number for Fleming could not be located Tuesday, and it was not known if he has retained an attorney.
