Prosecutors: Drug Ring Leader Gets 30-Year Prison Sentence

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Prosecutors say the leader of a southern New Jersey drug ring has been sentenced to 30 years in state prison.

Ocean County prosecutors say 29-year-old Enzo Pena, of Mays Landing, employed at least five juveniles in his drug distribution scheme. Penza will have to serve at least 10 years before he becomes eligible for parole under the sentence imposed Friday.

Penza was charged with numerous counts after police stopped his vehicle in March 2013 in Stafford Township. Authorities say a subsequent search of his home uncovered more than a pound of marijuana, two loaded handguns with defaced serial numbers and several thousand dollars in cash.
