Prosecutor Seeks Suspect In String Of Wine Thefts

SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities in New Jersey are seeking a New York man on charges stemming from a string of expensive wine thefts in three states.

The Somerset County prosecutor has charged 25-year-old Scott Deluca of Wynantskill, New York, with shoplifting. The prosecutor says Deluca stole two bottles of wine valued at $1,858 from a liquor store in Bernardsville on Sept. 9.

Authorities say Deluca is wanted in a string of high-end wine thefts in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

Deluca has been seen driving a dark-colored 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has New York "Adirondack" personalized vanity license plates bearing the letters "SPA ND."
