Prosecution Rests In Montco Man's Triple Murder Case

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Prosecutors have rested their case in the non-jury trial of an Upper Merion, Pa. man accused of using a sword to murder his parents and his twin brother inside their Gulph Mills home more than three years ago.
The final witness was Steven Kidd, a 27-year-old former inmate at Montgomery County Prison, who told the court he met defendant Joseph McAndrew in the medical wing of the prison.
As it turns out, he testified, the two knew each other from elementary school.
Kidd says he and his cellmate questioned McAndrew about the murders and recorded the answers. He says McAndrew told him he killed his father, then his mother, and his brother accidentally when he intervened.
Kidd says McAndrew told him he wanted to make their deaths ugly because they made his life ugly. He told the court McAndrew said he was seeing their blood on the walls and hearing their screams.
The defense has called Kidd's credibility into question since he was behind bars on a theft charge, and attempted to show he was off his medications for bipolar disorder and ADHD at the time he was in prison.
