Procedural Error Hinders Four Republicans Seeking Congressional Seat In South Jersey

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Republicans who seek to replace former South Jersey Congressman Rob Andrews on Capitol Hill have made what could be construed as a major procedural mistake.
Four GOP hopefuls filed the nominating petitions for the June primary, but not for the special election that goes along with it. Nominees will also be selected to fill Andrews' unexpired term, starting after the November General election through the rest of the year. John Lukacher speaks for Republican candidate Garry Cobb.
"In the urgent drive to put together hundreds of signatures for the general election primary, we made an oversight and did not file the signatures necessary for the special primary ballot."
On the other hand, all three Democrats in the race did file for both elections.
Cobb's people will push for a write in vote in June to cover that special election which, at this point, is the best option the Republicans have.
