Preview: Flyers Host The Islanders Tonight

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers will look to get back on the winning track tonight as they welcome the New York Islanders to the Center.

Philadelphia had its four-game winning streak snapped last time out on Saturday, losing to Columbus in South Philadelphia, 4-1.

That defeat dropped the Flyers to 11-11-5 on the season. With 27 points, they are alone in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Islanders are third in the Metro with 35 points thanks to a 15-8-5 record. They have picked up at least a point in each of their last seven games, going 5-0-2 during this stretch.

This will be the second of five meetings between these two teams this season. The Islanders won the first on November 25th, in Brooklyn, grabbing a 3-1 win.

Steve Mason is expected to start in net tonight for the Flyers.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with the Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi about tonight's match-up.
