President Of Planned Parenthood Visits Two Local Colleges
LOWER MERION, PA (CBS) -- The President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund visited two suburban Philadelphia college campuses, to lay out the stakes for women in the upcoming election.
Student Nora Dell, a sophomore and president of Bryn Mawr College Democrats, led a social media live interview.
"We're going to be talking about young women in this election, and how much of a difference you can really make by voting," Dell said.
Her guest, Planned Parenthood's Cecile Richards, said young people are likely to be the biggest voting block in this election cycle.
"For the first time, millennial voters have overtaken baby boomers, as far as the numbers," Richards said.
She said Secretary Clinton had led on women's health and reproductive rights, in contrast to Donald Trump's history of objectifying women. She gave a shout out to young people on college campuses who have made sexual assault an important public issue.
"I think in a strange way, what Donald Trump has done, has given more power and light to those movements."
At a followup event at Swarthmore College, U.S. Senate candidate Katie McGinty joined Richards, during which they both chastised Trump for what they call his 'degrading comments about women.'
