Powerball Jackpot Surges To $485M

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- The Pennsylvania Lottery announced that the Powerball jackpot has increased to a staggering $485 million annuity value, or a $327.7 million cash prize, for the February 11th drawing.

The Lottery says the increase is thanks to brisk ticket sales.

If won tomorrow, the jackpot would be the game's third largest annuity prize on record.

Officials say tickets were selling at a rate of about 2,300 tickets-per-minute as of noon Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

In Pennsylvania tickets are sold until 9:59 p.m. on the night of the drawing.

Powerball tickets cost $2 each.
