Power Restored To Most Customers In New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — About 2,000 customers in New Jersey remained without power following Wednesday's snowstorm.

Jersey Central Power & Light reports about 2,100 homes and businesses were still without electricity Friday morning, mostly in Sussex and Morris counties. Rockland Electric has about 140 customers without power.

The storm brought a mix of precipitation, ranging from heavy wet flakes to sleet before tapering off or turning over to rain Wednesday night. But vast stretches of New Jersey, especially in the south, were relatively unscathed.

Montague, in Sussex County, had the highest snowfall total at 12½ inches.
