Positively Philadelphia: Students Are Free At Small Business Marketing Summit

BUCKS COUNTY, PA  (CBS) -- BucksMont BizCon is a day-long small business marketing summit, and this year, students are invited to attend for free.

Mark Kennedy, president of SEOM Interactive, said they want to support through education.

"We want to encourage students that are going to school for either marketing or entrepreneurship. And when they graduate, digital marketing's going to be a huge component of what they do, so we want to support that and get them as much education as we can."

Kennedy said the conference brings together many experts, and also a "Shark Tank," style competition open to anyone.

"If anyone wants to submit to the contest, they want to come to us and say, 'Here's my digital marketing plan. Here's what I want to do.'"

There is a $5,000 prize, and last year's winner has become a big success.

"Her name was Katie, and she was Taste of Tuscany, which was an organic pasta sauce. And she's actually going to be on our judging panel this year."
