Popular Roxborough Restaurant Burglarized Twice Just Days Aparts

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A popular restaurant in Northwest Philadelphia has been burglarized twice in one week and police are searching for the people responsible.

Police say the first theft at Mel's Kitchen in Roxborough happened around 9:15 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say a man broke into the restaurant along the 5000 block of Umbria Street through a back door and stole an undetermined amount of money.

Three days later, police say, the restaurant was burglarized again, this time by a different suspect. He also got into the building through the rear door, took cash, and then fled.

It was immediately known if the two incidents were related.

Investigators are hoping surveillance video of the thefts will help them track down the two suspects.
