Poll: Things Aren't Looking Good For Gov. Christie In NJ
TRENTON, NJ (CBS) – The majority of New Jersey voters don't think Governor Christie is doing a good job, and they also think he knew about the George Washington Bridge traffic jam, or "Bridgegate," but did not personally order it.
That's the takeaway from a new Quinnipiac University poll conducted the second week of April.
According to that survey, 53 percent of those polled say Christie was aware of the historic traffic jam, but 57 percent say he did not order it.
And, if it turns out Christie had knowledge his aides were ordering Bridgegate or ordered it himself, 34 percent say he should be removed from office and 29 percent would want him removed and prosecuted.
The Governor also hit his lowest approval rating ever – just 38 percent of New Jerseyans think he's doing a good job. Sixty-five percent feel he would not make a good president, and 64 percent don't think he should run.
The poll surveyed nearly 1,500 New Jersey voters and has a margin of error of +/- 2.6 percentage points.
