Politician Gives Up Paycheck To Benefit Philly Schools

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia city councilman Allan Domb is making good on a promise—and Philadelphia's school children are the beneficiaries.

Domb presented checks to six Philadelphia public schools today.

He wants to donate his city council salary to public schools across the city.

The schools receiving the checks come from several neighborhoods, including Kingsessing, Fairmount and North and West Philadelphia.

The schools by name are: Morton McMichael School, S. Weir Mitchell School, Spring Garden School, Thomas G. Morton School, William Rowen School and Edison/Fareira High School.
