Police: Woman's Body Found Near South Philly Warehouse

By Justin Finch

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police say a woman's body was found in the back lot of an old South Philadelphia warehouse Sunday afternoon.

This happened just before 2 p.m. on the 1900 block of South Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

The victim was identified by family members as Crystal Goodwin.

CBS3 Eyewitness News spoke to a man who was dropped off at the scene in a police cruiser. He said homeless people often sleep in the area, and that when he saw the body and realized she was dead, he called police. He added she had a large wound near her ribs.

A nearby business told CBS3 that police are reviewing its surveillance video in hopes of finding leads in the case as the investigation continues.

So far, there is no suspect or motive, but investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
