Police: Woman's Ashes Stolen During NJ Home Burglary

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say burglars who broke into a central New Jersey home apparently didn't realize they were stealing an urn containing the ashes of a resident's late wife.

West Windsor police say the ashes were being kept in a small rosewood box, which had been placed inside a green felt bag. The box was among several items taken from the home on Thursday, and authorities believe the burglars thought the box was only filled with valuables.

No one was home when the burglars entered the residence, and no arrests have been made.

Authorities believe the burglary is connected to another break-in that also occurred in the township Thursday night.
