Police: Woman Set Fire To Training Dummy At Pennsylvania Bar

PORTAGE, Pa. (AP) — Police say a woman got lit up at a central Pennsylvania bar before she lit a training dummy on fire.

Greenfield Township police have charged 43-year-old Star Jackson, of Portage, with arson, public drunkenness and other crimes stemming from the July 18 incident at the Blue Knob All Seasons Resort's Clubhouse Bar & Grill.

Police say the dummy was stored there because the resort hosts training for the Global Powerline Academy. The school teaches power line workers how to avoid danger.

Police say the dummy was tied to a utility pole when it was set on fire. When the fire burned through the rope, the dummy fell to the floor and was quickly extinguished.

Defense attorney Mark Zearfus says Jackson acknowledges lighting the fire, but he's hoping she will eventually plead guilty to a lesser charge.
