Police: Woman Robbed At Knifepoint In Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police say an investigation is underway after a 61-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint while walking to her car.

Authorities say on Sunday, March 22 around 8:15 p.m. the victim was walking to her vehicle, which was parked behind an apartment building in Victoria Mews.

Police say as the woman attempted to open the door to her car, two suspects pinned her against the vehicle and one placed a knife to her neck.

Officials say the suspects demanded cash and took the victim's wallet from her purse and then fled the scene heading towards Elkton Road.

Authorities say the victim suffered a minor scratch and no medical attention was necessary.

Police describe the first suspect with the knife as a black male, 5'11" to 6' tall, heavy build, wearing dark clothing and a hooded shirt covering his head.

Police say the second suspect was described as a white male, 5'11" to 6' tall, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a hooded shirt covering his head.
