Police: Woman, Friend Used Sons, 11 And 13, To Shoplift

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police have charged two women with shoplifting by enlisting two sons of one of the suspects to hide items in their clothes at a Pennsylvania drug store.

Thirty-five-year-olds Mary Lancaster and Angie Kimmel, were charged Thursday by Uniontown police.

Police say Lancaster allowed her 13-year-old son to take the blame for stealing the items — about $95 worth of makeup, hair care products and drinks — when police were first called by an employee of the CVS Pharmacy store Tuesday night.

But police were called back to the store, and wound up charging the women, too, after a clerk found surveillance video that showed the women taking the items off shelves and handing them to the boy and his 11-year-old brother to hide.

Court records don't list defense attorneys.
