Police: Woman Assaulted, Robbed Near Frankford School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating an assault and robbery near an elementary school in the city's Frankford section.

Authorities say a woman was pistol whipped by a man near the John Marshall Elementary School on Griscom Street around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim told police her attacker stole her purse and then fled the scene.

She was able to call 9-1-1 and was taken to Aria Health's Frankford Campus for treatment.

There was no immediate word on the woman's condition.

Police are still searching for a suspect.
