Police Vehicle Crashes Into Utility Pole, Lands On Front Lawn Of South Jersey Home

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Authorities say a Winslow Township police officer was taken to the hospital after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole Monday afternoon.

Police say after striking the pole, his vehicle traveled and came to a stop on the front lawn of a private residence.

Winslow police were responding to the area of Berlin-Cross Keys Road and Chews Landing Road in Sicklerville for a report of a car accident with injuries.

While en route, a responding officer was involved in a separate crash. Officials say the officer was driving with his emergency lights and siren activated when he struck a utility pole, and came to a stop on the front lawn of a residence.

Police say the officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Virtua Hospital in Voorhees Township.
